Our National Park is a stargazer’s paradise, we have some of the best night skies in the country and we are excited to celebrate this by being part of the National Parks second Dark Skies Festival. It’s all about discovering, learning and enjoying the dark and the stars you can see as a result.
The main festival runs from 18 to 26 February 2017.
We are running two cycling events in association with this festival:
Monday 20 February
Children's Planet Trail (under 10’s)
16:00 to 17:00 - Hawes; £3
Traffic free planet bike trail. Learn about the planets and constellation while following a bike trail and clues to win a prize. Learn how to keep safe in the dark. Bikes available to borrow. Parents can accompany new, nervous riders. Hot chocolate at the finish.
Saturday 25 February
A Ride on the Dark Side (18+)
06:00 - 08:00
Stage 1 Cycles, Hawes
