Whilst the humble 26" wheel might have fallen from fashion in the adult mtb market, we're looking at it from another angle - deeming it the perfect basis for a pared-down, lightweight youth hardtail.
A simplified 1x9 drive with optimized chainline and wide-range 11-34T cassette still provides an ample, useable gear range but is lighter, easier to maintain and more resilient (aka 'junior proof'). Heavy and generally poor performing suspension forks at this level make way for a lighter Cr-Mo rigid fork which is still plenty comfy but more importantly non-suspension corrected, resulting in a lower BB and handlebar height and therefore more manageable proportions and confidence-inspiring handling. Bigger wheeled riding advantages for smaller people.
Because kids are fast! New Shimano BR-M355 hydraulic disc brakes and new RM33 Centrelock hubs offer consistent, relaible braking despite the weather conditions.

The heavy, non-performing suspension fork makes way for a Cr-Mo rigid fork that still provides ample comfort with the large volume 1.95” tyres but is significantly lighter, resulting in a better riding experience
CST C-1383 1.95” semi-slick tyres offer a nice, fast rolling compromise on a wide variety of surfaces
